There is a lot to be said for fixers. If you are willing to put in the work, they can really be a great way to get a lot of house for less cheddar, plus they offer the opportunity for you to get creative. But rehab ain’t for everyone.
This amazing mid-century home on SW Moss St is a prime example of fixer-potential. Great bones, but in need of some care and love. The thing is that the home is located on a huge lot, and instead of folks wanting to rehab this house into her former glory, most people wanted to knock it down and build new homes on the lot. Not my clients. They saw the home for the gem it was. We put in our offer and waited.
When we got the call that the offer was accepted, I was told that it was because my clients were committed to preserving the home. It’s a really great thing to be able to help people who love the charms and quirks of unusual homes, and those that want to preserve the original neighborhoods. It just goes to show that sometimes heart is worth a lot more than money.
Also, it makes my job a whole lot more pleasant to work with such a great agent on the sellers side.
Congratulations to my wonderful clients on their exciting new venture into homeownership!
