Dale Schiff has a remarkable ability to meet people where they are, and be attuned to their needs. She comes by it naturally after a long career in social services in many roles. She is trained as a psychologist and worked as a children’s therapist in Portland before opening Haven Coffee, a fixture on Division Street for over 8 years. After working and living in the Richmond neighborhood for several years, Dale is glad to be rooted in the neighborhood once again.

Dale bought her first house in Portland in 2001 and has since acquired three more learning the ins and outs of being a landlord, home repairs, home maintenance, and working with contractors first hand. Her most recent purchase was a foreclosure that she and her partner have been living in and rehabbing themselves. She has a keen eye for design, and detail and loves to salvage old materials and breathe new life into them. Dale is passionate about people and the spaces they inhabit.  She loves the Tiny house movement, co-housing and vintage airstreams. Dale’s next project will be to build a tiny house or to renovate a vintage Airstream.

Dale believes strongly in community and service to others whether it is delivering meals on wheels to older adults, gathering art for a benefit auction, or producing a benefit concert.  In her leisure time, she can be found in architectural salvage shops, giving her friends design tips, and attending Americana music shows. She loves walking her dogs around her favorite neighborhoods with a hot cup of coffee in hand looking at the unique mix of architecture that is Portland. If you are new to Portland, Dale would love to introduce you to the wonder of Portland’s neighborhoods one coffee roaster at a time.

“To say Dale went above and beyond our expectations is an understatement. She explained the process clearly, really made an effort to get to know our needs/wants, and spent as much time as it took with us to make sure we found the right house. She showed us numerous houses and we came to value and appreciate her knowledge of Portland neighborhoods, expertise with navigating the real estate market and attention to detail with the many steps involved in buying a house. We encountered a few setbacks along the way, but Dale was always there for encouragement, moral and emotional support. Her amazing problem solving skills saved the day on a couple of occasions. She is a fun, generous person that I’m glad I got to know through this process.” -Andy H. & Laura G.

“Dale is truly a special person. She comes across as genuinely kind, smart, and knowledgeable. She really wants what her clients want and is in no way pushy or paints a bright picture to things that shouldn’t be painted. When we looked at houses, she pointed out both the positive and the things that might be a problem. She has good working relationships with everyone, from the home inspectors to the community and the real estate world. If she doesn’t know something and you have a question, she’ll get the answer.” – Anita G., Juan J., Travis P., Marie J.

“We walked into Living Room Realty completely clueless and Dale Schiff came to our rescue. We didn’t just get a real estate agent hat day, we gained a friend. We asked a million questions and she had the answers, or quickly found them. She was always quick to respond by text, email or phone call. When we found the right home, she helped us get the best deal possible and helped fight to make sure everything was done right!

“Dale is great! She will make your home buying experience easy breezy.” – Laura A.

“Dale Schiff found us a home in the neighborhood we wanted when we had given up all hope. She was always available, kind, thorough, and patient. She really listened to us to better meet our needs in terms of the house we wanted and the budget we had. She fought for us during the offer and the negotiations. Dale is an awesome real estate agent who cares for people and who demonstrates great professionalism. We recommend her greatly!!!”

“Dale has been an incredible asset in the process of buying our home. She helped us navigate the complicated Portland housing market and find our dream home. She was available on short notice to show us homes that were both realistic and not, all at our request. Dale was available all the time for support, encouragement, and generally making things happen! I simultaneously used her to sell my house and that experience was even more smooth and I was able to stay pretty hands off, like I wanted.” – Sarah C.
