Elinor grew up in Baltimore, and received a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology at Haverford College outside Philadelphia. In 2014, she moved to England for her Master of Arts in Human Geography at Queen Mary University of London, and to indulge her Anglophilia and love of all things Sherlock Holmes; she wrote her thesis on nineteenth-century women’s mobility as seen in contemporary literature with a focus on bicycling, railways, and walking in the city. She places great value on community and urban movement, especially on two wheels.
A lousy but enthusiastic cook, Elinor loves experimenting with new recipes and being challenged by unusual farmers market vegetables. She has a cat, Zeke, upon whom she dotes, and a yarn stash always on the verge of being out of control. She also dabbles in writing fiction.
Elinor moved to Portland and joined Living Room Realty as an Administrative Assistant in 2016, to help make every transaction as smooth and accurate as possible. Her attention to detail and regular follow-ups keep the contracts moving along, from the initial decision to sell to the long-awaited closing day. In previous lives, she has worked as a lifeguard and swim teacher, a knitting coach and yarn peddler, a waitress and bartender, a carpenter, a stage hand, and an office manager for an artisan furniture company.
