Hans Tonjes is an Oregon native, raised in Northwest Portland. For the last 20 years Hans and his family have divided their time between Portland and the coast. He has a varied real estate background ranging from small timberland management to mixed use development, including condominiums, commercial retail and vacation lodging. For the last 15 years Hans has been working diligently  with others to build a year round economy in Manzanita, his favorite Oregon coastal town.

For 7 years Hans has served on the board of directors of the Rinehart Clinic, a local non-profit. He has also spent over 4 years working on the Manzanita Planning Commission and was elected to the Manzanita City Council in November of 2013. Hans has a solid understanding of the challenges and opportunities present in relocating to the coast, decisions involved in investing in real estate there and maintaining a second home.

Hans strives to be very service and value oriented. With a lifelong connection to Northwest Portland and active involvement in the lifestyle of the north coast he enjoys helping others learn about these wonderful Oregon communities. His spare time is occupied with all types of music, classic film and friendly arguments about ice cream.

What Hans’ clients have to say:

“I used Hans to sell my family home in Neahkahnie even though I am a seasoned real estate broker in Portland, OR, because:

1. He has extensive knowledge of current property values in the area.
2. He is trustworthy and honest.
3. He is lovely to work with.

My home sold quickly with multiple offers and closed on time with a minimum of hassle to me. I highly recommend Hans.”

“Hans is well informed about the local real estate market. He is focused on the needs of the client and works diligently to ensure the sale closes.  You can trust him to give you candid advice on options possible to close a transaction and how to present terms palatable to both seller and buyer. Hans is thoughtful as well as an excellent listener with great retention and follow through. I endorse Hans whole heartily and found that he took the stress out of buying real estate and made the process exciting and fun.”

“Hans Tonjes made our beach house dream a reality, guiding us through a complicated transaction quickly and completely.  He was a real pleasure to work with–professional, attentive, knowledgeable and cordial.”

– Bruce and Judy B.

“When we interviewed Hans in his office we felt very comfortable with his attitude and easy going manner.  He looked at our photos, then came to visit our home. After Hans listened to our thoughts about the home we had designed and built years ago he was willing to list at what WE thought the house was worth even though he warned us we might have to wait for that one specific buyer. Hans had open houses for Realtors. He called us after each time he had a single showing. We always felt he was reporting it to us straight. Our strongest statement is that we know we can trust Hans. We consider Hans Tonjes to be a very capable broker.”
