Scott Henry Moore was born and raised in the Midwestern state of Michigan. This upbringing instilled in him a strong work ethic and moral sensibility that guides him today. “Go West, young man,” is a phrase that rang true to Scott, so in 1993 he moved his wife and very young son to Portland, Oregon. Over the next several years two more children joined the family and they lived in a variety of neighborhoods including NE, SW, and Cannon Beach, and finally purchased a home in outer SE Portland. Now with fourteen years rooted in the community of Lents, they have helped to revive a neighborhood once called “Felony Flats.” Home ownership is very important to Scott. He feels that people from all walks of life should have an opportunity to own a home and contribute to their neighborhood through investment, restoration and involvement.
Scott’s background and education are primarily in the fine arts. He holds a BFA in graphic design and a MFA in sculpture. He has worked in the production of art, high end picture framing and also operated a custom longboard skateboard brand for sixteen years. At age fifty he decided to sell the business and start his final career in real estate. His love of architecture, aesthetic sensibilities, and commitment to community have found a home at Living Room Realty. Scott brings a wealth of life and work experience to the world of buying and selling homes that will serve his clients well. He is very detail- and process-oriented and will guide buyers and sellers through every aspect of a real estate transactions.
In his spare time, Scott can be found hiking in the Columbia River Gorge, camping at the coast, or long boarding down Mt. Tabor or along the Springwater Corridor Trail. Portland’s close proximity to the Cascade mountains, Pacific ocean and other outdoor activities is something he highly values. Scott also enjoys the many great food and micro brewery options Portland has to offer, not to mention all the music venues to take in a live show. If you are new to the city, Scott can find the right neighborhood for you to live in and also tell you where to go to have fun. If you have lived here a while, please share!
