Years ago I worked at this breakfast spot in Southeast called Zells.  Awesome breakfast if you’ve never been.  We had a million regulars, some good and some terrible, but we all had our favorites.  Mine was this eccentric older woman named Connie who came in once a week and sat in window seat.  She always came towards the end of the day when the rush had ended, and she’d order a portabella scramble with wheat, sub fruit. We figured out we both lived in Kenton and talked a lot about that.  At the time, I was just getting my real estate license and she was thinking about selling so she asked me to come over and have a look.  Every year for 4 years she had me come over and look at the house for one reason or another.  Finally this year, she decided it was time to move on.  It became a family affair.  I was listing it,  my best friend Shoogs got the... More

Mt. Tabor Delight

Kathy and Chris finally found the home in Mt. Tabor that they are going to retire in! They have been looking for around 2 years and their patience has paid off! I gave them keys to their home this past week and they are so excited to move to Portland for the next phase of their life and to be closer to their daughter and new granddaughter! Another happy ending in a tough buyer’s market. Check out my reviews on YELP Tracey Henkels Living Room Realty 503.715.6140   More

Front of Earth Ship

When I went to Jefferson, Colorado this summer to visit one of my best friends from college, I had no idea my real estate (and cardio-vascular!) horizons would be so expanded.  My friend, Kristin, lives in an Earth Ship that she and her family have built with their own hands – completely “off the grid.”  One side of the house is insulated by 1,000 recycled tires.   The other side has an expansive 180 degree view of the beautiful high desert. The floor is “polished mud.”  The walls are adobe mud.  The house is powered by solar and wind.  The construction is solid, the views are breathtaking, and the home is beautiful, cozy and livable – no one’s roughing it.   Kudos to Kristin (and family) and all of you out there who are living/thinking “outside of the box/grid.”  You are an  inspiration to us all! Do you want to live life outside of the box?  Are you considering a radical change when it comes to... More

This Beaumont bungalow SOLD IN  4 DAYS with 5 offers all over asking. The media is right, our inter-city market is hot and buyers face the challenge of competing with investors, BUT, in this case a first time home buyer had the best offer and the sellers were thrilled that their home of 15 years was going to be loved and nourished rather than torn down for a much larger home.
