SOLD in Milwaukie!

Front Corner Exterior

Sellers Carley & Brad unexpectedly found they needed to leave Oregon when Brad received an out of state job offer in 2011; pretty darn near the bottom of the real estate market crash in Oregon.  Needless to say it was not a good time to sell in Milwaukie so Carley and Brad took that job out of state and found a great tenant who rented for a few years until the market improved.  Cut to 2014 and Carley and Brad are Oregon Property Owners no more as they just sold their adorable, 1945 3 bedroom, 2 bath corner cottage in historic Milwaukie.  They received 3 offers, and sold $5000 over asking.  It’s a wonder what a few years can do to work things out!  Now that Carley and Brad have checked the “Sell our Milwaukie Property” box off their list, we’re sure they’ll have fun getting that “Kitchen Remodel” box checked off next! NE 65th exterior

You guys…Kate Bingaman-Burt and Clifton Burt are RAD.  Like seriously, I love them.  SO much fun to spend time with – creative, funny, smart, kind, cool and let’s face it they have great taste in realtors   Everyone in this town seems to know them, and so I have dubbed them my Portland celebrity clients.  But on top of that they are real celebrities because Kate’ s art is everywhere.  And her ted talk is so inspiring! It is a unique town we live in that educators and artists are so revered, and it is very deserved in the case of this awesome couple. Kate, Clifton and myself looked at quite a few properties, some were AWFUL and others were ADORABLE but none seemed like “the one” until they walked into their quintessential Portland Roseway bungalow.  It had all the criteria we had discussed, and a few more, plus it just felt homey. Here is the deets; 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, .11 acres, 1728 sq ft, big porch,... More

Klickitat Street of Dreams

NE 16th-2

We listed this beautiful home in NE Portland. It sold quickly. The owners had taken great care of their home and had made smart updates. We helped them get it ready for the market and worked hard to make sure everyone who’s anyone knew it was available. But, we can’t help thinking that maybe we got a little help from the fact that this house is on the corner of 16th and Klickitat. Klickitat Street is named for the Native American tribe, the Klickitat, but it was made famous by the author Beverly Cleary. The street was the fictional home of her characters Henry Huggins, Ramona Quimby, and Beatrice “Beezus” Quimby. Cleary grew up in the neighborhood and said the name Klickitat reminded her of “the sound of knitting needles.” Klickitat. A beautiful home on a historic street, now with happy new owners. Done and done. Lance Marrs and Shanon Emerson + 503-701-5323 + 971-400-4042 Instagram: @realestateofbeing More

The Valley of the Happy

We sold a house in Happy Valley within three days of it going on the market. If you don’t know much about Happy Valley, you’ll be pleased to discover that it offers a little bit of everything. From miles and miles of stores to the annual Pickathon music festival held on an 86-acre farm. While Pickathon may be so very Portland, this festival could not happen in Portland. It would be something entirely different. Pickathon is happy in Happy Valley. Here’s how Pickathon answers the question of how to be the best music festival of the year for music lovers: “This question has driven us to highly refine an experience that is truly unique. Innovation has always been at the center of this process and through the years many important elements have come together; collaborating widely on yearly diverse lineups that are built on the idea of great music being the sole criteria; refining six unique performance venues designed to create juxtaposing alternate realities; trusting... More
