I fondly remember growing up in a quaint, classic 100-year-old bungalow.
My mom was an avid gardener, planted fragrant flowers, fruit trees, and veggies and incorporated quirky tile mosaics throughout our backyard. My favorite part of my childhood home, however… the pull down stairs to the attic which led to my playroom! The fireplace, hardwood floors, and front porch where I spent so much time evoke a such a feeling of family and home for me. I so appreciate the uniqueness of Portland area homes, and being able to re-live how houses evolve from their original build to how they live today, picturing families and stories along the way.
My transition to real estate from non-profit residential energy efficiency work was catalyzed by my attraction to the innovativeness and creativeness of the Portland housing stock. It was also super important to me to tap into my community in a deeper way; connecting with people one-on-one and being able to actually see the positive outcomes of my work in a tangible way.
Being a real estate agent allows me to form deep and meaningful connections with people while satisfying my own insatiable curiosity for Portland homes. I approach my work for my clients as if I’m in their shoes, buying or selling. It’s personal! It’s critical that my clients have an authentic and enjoyable experience working with me, with honesty and integrity being my top priority all the time. My goal is to evolve the perception of real estate agents from perhaps less than trustworthy sales folks to client-focused, highly trusted and thoughtful individuals.
When I have free time, you might catch me enjoying some live music or dancing with PDX Dance Collective (did I mention I have a degree in dance?). I also love to hike with Patrick, my husband, and my mini Australian Shepherd puppy, Stringer Bell. Admittedly where you’re most likely to catch me, however, is eating and drinking delicious food and cocktails at the many great Portland restaurants. If I’m not it town, I’m likely in the southern Caribbean… it feels like a second home!

Nicolette Hanna was on top of the sale of my home from the get go.
I am a patient cynic in the real estate and business world and Nicolette exceeded my expectations on so many levels. From the start Nicolette came in with a positive plan on how to sell and market my house. I had done a number of energy efficiency upgrades to my house and Nicolette was in tune with using this as a marketing and sales tool for the house. Nicolette was polite and fierce on being on top of every step of the process. She made it easy for my to file paperwork, even while during half of the process I had already moved out of town. She made me aware of deadlines and kindly followed up when we were getting closer to them. The result was having everything in line and a quick close on the house. I was impressed and she has set a high standard.
Nicolette was amazing and well informed in what was happening in the marketplace and our neighborhood. Her suggestions and feedback were instrumental in positioning our house for sale, which was in the market for only 24 hours before getting an offer. Nicolette met with my wife and I several times at our house before getting our home staged and paper work ready for sell. As soon as the house was for sale, offer made and home sold, she kept us in the loop at every level, via phone calls, emails and check-ins. We felt that we knew every detail going into the selling of our home. We would recommend (and HAVE recommended) Nicolette to loved ones. She was an amazing real estate broker and due to her professionalism and personal approach to each client she took the stress out of selling our home.
Nicolette has a great pulse on the current market and the type of offer needed to be competitive in the hot Portland market. I found the perfect 1920s bungalow and put in an aggressive offer, only to be third in line. Sensing my disappointment, she recommended I sign a back up offer in case something fell through. A few days later the original party backed out and the owners accepted my offer. Nicolette negotiated the needed repairs with the selling agent and in the end the appraisal proved she was spot on in her assessment of the home’s value. Nicolette is an excellent resource both during and after the sale and is my go-to person with any house-related questions. I would recommend Nicolette to a friend or family member without hesitation!
