Reflecting on 2023 // Gratitude for Community

By Living Room Realty, February 14, 2024

Reflecting on 2023, I had many wins, some losses, and continued growth. Thanks to my amazing community, I was able to help 29 clients into or out of homes this year. In a sluggish market with tough affordability, my buyers paid on average 1% less than list price and received $5,432 in seller credit, and my sellers received an average of 101% of their list price (the market average was 97%).

What do I mean, thanks to my community? Well, my business is 100% sphere- and referral- based, meaning all of my business comes from people I know or people they know. I love the built-in accountability & community that exist here. It makes my job feel less like a job!

So it’s no surprise that the PEOPLE I get to serve are the best part of my work.  Lucky me – in 2023,  I got to work with…

  • Close friends expecting a baby (nothing like a due date to light a fire)
  • A local ceramicist (and her family) in search of a perfect garage fit for a clay studio
  • A couple divorcing and selling their largest asset
  • Favorite past clients selling their home (our 4th transaction together!) to move closer to family
  • Past clients right-sizing as their youngest child headed off to college
  • A long-time tenant purchasing her first home, and then her out-of-country landlord selling the rental!
  • A refugee family purchasing their first home in the US – hell yes!
  • An out-of-state client settling her brother’s estate and selling his home
  • Roommates coming together to purchase their first home together
  • Thoughtful, generous, kind people in each transaction

And thanks to my community, I was the #2 solo agent at Living Room Realty for 2023 and in the top 2% of agents in the Portland metro. I would not have met any of my goals without your support, trust, and referrals. It is an honor to serve you all – thank you, thank you, thank you!
