Old houses. You might be thinking about buying one or have already begun swinging a hammer. All the more reason to make sure your tetnaus shot is up to date. While tearing off aluminum siding on the outside of my own fixer last week , I stepped on a board with a 2.5″ nail in it. That nail went through my shoe and up and out the top of my tennis shoe. With one tug and I was able to pull the board that was now stuck to the bottom of my foot out of my foot. It hurt, for sure. But I kept on working. I let two days go by before my boyfriend talked me into getting a shot. It took him reading out loud all of the symptoms I could be afflicted with for me to haul my ass to Zoom Care. Lockjaw might make you look like a cowboy, but I like to open my mouth. I want to be able to eat and kiss.
Zoom Care administers Tdap boosters at $85 bucks. As an adult you need to get one every 10 years. You’ve got 48 hours to get the shot after your step on the rusty nail in order for it to work. Before you swing a hammer, make sure your shots are up to date:)
