Neighborhood Spotlight: South Waterfront

By Living Room Realty, May 8, 2019

If you haven’t been down to the South Waterfront area of Portland in the past 5-10 years, you would hardly recognize it. It used to be sort of a drab bit of land that was mostly just grass, dirt, and a few condo buildings. But since OHSU went in, along with the Sky Tram, it’s grown into a really cool bit of town to live in. It’s a little more private and tucked away so it’s ideal for those who want city convenience, but not necessarily city noise.

I recently helped my clients buy a sweet condo in the ‘hood so now they get to explore all the goods. They have their own local farmers market in nearby Elizabeth Caruthers Park, there’s a delicious Lebanese restaurant around the corner called Al Hawr, an OrangeTheory gym mere blocks away, a Blue Star Donuts, Sweet Heart Pizza, and the Frank Wine Bar, all within walking distance! Throw in a couple salons and a few coffee shops and you’ve got all the baes covered. Nearby MAX transportation makes car-free commuting super breezy, and the South Waterfront Greenway is a great place for running or just for enjoying watching boats go by.

If you haven’t considered looking at this part of town, I highly recommend doing so! I would be happy to show you around.
