St. Johns Cottage Renovation

By Living Room Realty, November 1, 2019

When I helped Nick buy this house in 2010 it suffered from some bad “updates”: vinyl siding, melamine paneling, a cheap 70s kitchen. but it had a great location across from a park and 2 blocks from the quaint downtown of St Johns. Nick saw the potential and started by removing the siding and restoring the cedar. The house is relatively small but he rethought the kitchen, blowing it open to both the living room in front and mudroom in back. The barren lawn was a blank slate that he carefully crafted into a spectacular garden that stops traffic. Nine years later he and his partner John had improved just about every detail of the house and were ready for a new and larger project. Their hard work paid off and we immediately got several offers above asking price and a fast sale. Stay tuned for Nick & John’s next project!
