Sacrificing for Home Ownership

By Andee Zeigler, December 10, 2019

Giving a new home owner their keys is one of the great joys of this job! It is so fun to see their excitement, hopefulness and deep gratitude. It is especially awesome when they end up with a home far greater than they ever expected.

My buyer had been living in an artist studio….aka…a storage unit with no running water for nearly 4 years. No kitchen, no outdoor space, no separation of music space, art space, living space, sleeping space…. While I could go down the rabbit hole of how insane it is that one must live like this in order to save for a down payment.

I will spare you. Just know it’s rough and also incredibly inspiring to see someone have that level of dedication, eye on the prize!

A door that is ones own.
