Buying a Home – Business Unusual

How’s everyone doing? To be honest, today has been a little tough… both my husband and I have had really busy days with work, leaving less time than we’d like to keep our kids engaged and their brains and bodies active. It is what it is.

I’ve been busy today because I helped bring to market a great little bungalow in Overlook. We’ve spent a lot of time going over what made the most sense to provide access to the home, all the while building tools and resources to do what we could to keep people safe. I’ve been keeping in mind what I’ve been sharing over social media, and with my active buyers on what to expect during this most unusual time.

1. Be serious about buying. Get pre-approved. You will need to provide proof of it to access homes, and will definitely need a strong pre-approval to accompany your offer.
2. Look for Virtual Tours. Many agents are including virtual tours, 3D access and immersive videos to give a sense of what being inside the house would be like, without having to step foot in it.
3. Broker goes 1st. When touring, I will enter the home first with gloves and PPE to ensure cabinets, closets, drawers and such are open. Lights are on. This minimizes any need for the interested buyer to touch. And there will only be 2 people at a time in the house, respecting social distancing.
4. A tour is the last check box before writing. I’m providing my clients and me with rubber gloves, I made a big batch of homemade hand sanitizer and encourage buyers to LOOK but DON’T TOUCH.
