When the view around us tightens in focus, our ability to modify, to toil with that narrowed scene can bring an evolving sense of the outlook, a renewed optimism. The simple pleasures of dirt under our fingers instead of our familiar keyboard, the installation of trellis wires as opposed to cable wires, and the promise of a few young clematis starts to grow into a wall of color next Spring might just be the varied cultivation we need to get us to the next chapter.

Congratulations A & D. Your pursuit of adaptation within your new found surroundings is gorgeous. I can’t wait for the day I get to come see it in person. Raising a hand shovel to each of you out there finding restorative joy in beautifying the world within your immediate landscape, large and small.
