There’s no place like home… a mile away.

There’s no place like home for my first time buyer, Shawna, who gave me the challenge of finding her a home within a 1 mile radius of her parent’s house. Thankfully we didn’t have to look for too long when a cute starter home popped up. Initially the home went pending right away but it came back on the market during COVID. Shawna was able to quickly get pre-approved and made an offer on the home. She was competing with another buyer and her offer was chosen because of her enthusiasm and understanding.

Shawna is a flexible buyer who sees this home as an opportunity to enter the real estate market. Each time we met The home been remodeled and is move in ready, but are still things Shawna can do over time to improve the value. She will update the trim and replace the windows, clean up the yard and update appliances. The home is 3 bedrooms and 1 1/2 baths – the perfect size for Shawna and her small dog, Mable. There is new carpet, paint, kitchen cabinets, countertops and updated bathrooms. Out back is a covered patio, space for a garden, and room for Mable to roam.

Shawna is more than ready to make this house her home. After living with her parents for the last few years, she will still be close by but will have her own space. She will have a home office and maybe even a tap dancing room! Working with first time home buyers like Shawna is a specialty that I love. There is something so special about handing off they keys to a first time homeowner.
