I recently had the pleasure of helping two families who together owned a Troutdale home. They bought the house a few years ago and decided it was time to sell, maximize their equity, and each buy their own replacement home. There was a lot that could go wrong to throw off all the contingencies, but thankfully, everyone worked hard, collaborated, and maintained the needed flexibility required to make it all happen. Everything closed on time, people got the homes they wanted, and all are going on to enjoy their next adventure. I had a case of the night time scaries a few times, but everything worked out so well. And to make things even more exciting, both families bought houses in the same neighborhood right next to their other family members. So all the cousins are going to grow up right next to each other. THE DREAM!
