Timing is Everything in Lake Oswego

By Robin Hakeman, August 2, 2020

Timing is everything when you are trying to sell and buy a home during a global pandemic. We originally listed the Wood’s home in April but found that the timing wasn’t quite right for their higher price point home. We took a break and waited. In the mean time, the Wood’s tried not to fall in love with too many homes knowing that they still needed to sell theirs first.

By June with the market picking up again we decided to give it another try. We listed the third week of June with a new price & a refreshed front door, house numbers & lighting. Showing activity was up and we received an offer within the first week.

The Wood’s had been eyeing one particular home for a couple of weeks – a 1990’s home in Hallinan that was painted white & remodeled to perfection. By the time we went to see it, the price had dropped significantly and showing activity was way up. The Wood’s made a competitive offer and went pending the same day as their current home!

From the light oak front door to the fresh white paint & white oak floors throughout the home, everything has a zen like feel. The spaces are bright with tons of natural light – perfect for growing a plethora of plants. The master suite is it’s own special sanctuary with a remodeled bathroom and doors to the patio. The kitchen has been refreshed with marbled quartz counters and new appliances. The modern style of the home is everything that the Wood’s wanted.

As luck would have it, we closed on the Wood’s current house & the new house on the same day. Timing is Everything!
