Dear Old Friends Never Go Away

By Living Room Realty, August 20, 2020

I have a very measured way of approaching my real estate business. Most of all, I want to enjoy and believe in what I do, so I tend to work mostly with my friends or with people recommended by my friends. This motivates me to do the best I can for my customers.

A good example is when my old friend Nick called me to help his parents. I met Nick more than 25 years ago, when I was still living in Barcelona. A few years later, I moved to Portland, and our friendship flourished, but over the years, as our lives became busier with growing families and careers, we drifted apart. That didn’t deter him to contact me when he needed my help. I was very touched that my old friend reached out after so long and I felt a great sense of responsibility.

His parents were moving to Portland to be closer to family and they wanted a trusted agent to navigate the process. We lost no time and jumped right in, finding a great option within a week. Working with them was pure joy. Doug and Nancy were as lovely and goodhearted as their son, Nick.

In the end, the purchase of their home was a wonderful way to reconnect with my old friend and his family. I loved meeting his parents and making a difference in their lives. It feels good to be back in each other’s lives.
