I love the honor of helping good people make the change that allows them to live in a way and place that suits them today. Often, it can mean they are moving far away and that part is always bittersweet. We just closed on the sale of Pam and Greg’s house in Raleigh Hills and I am so sad to see them go! But life passages (retirement!), family needs (aging parents far away) and a real need to change up where they live are just a few of the drivers behind their departure. These two win the best sellers award! Already great stewards of the property they owned for 15 years, they were willing and ON IT with any suggestion I offered to help the house show in it’s very best light. Sometimes its a battle to get sellers to do what is in their own best interest but not so with these two. I am so grateful to them for that willing participation.
I will miss their big hearts. Both are incredibly generous, fiercely loyal and you always know where you stand with them. I mention this not just from a personal place but to say that their next community will be lucky to gain them as residents. In a rapidly changing world, the value of knowing who your neighbors are and just who you can count on is not only golden, it can save your life. These two are just who I’d want as MY neighbors.
In a few weeks, Greg and Pam will load up their truck with their yellow labs JoJo and Stanley along with the family kitty and begin the long drive. They’ll be pulling a newly purchased travel trailer cross country, their lodging along the way as well as temporarily while they acquire(or build!) their new place in Tennessee. I have to admit I am living a bit vicariously through their adventure–hitting the road, adventure along the way and the sole driving question simply being “what’s next?” There’s a lot of hope that comes with the courage to shake things up. Safe travels and Be Happy, Pam and Greg! Know that when Steve and I are less rooted in place we’ll be knocking on your door for a catch-up visit there in Tennessee.
