Getting Creative When Inventory is Low

By Lauren Hurley, December 16, 2020

Lindsay and Mike had a very reasonable set of criteria for their future Portland home, and they also had a healthy price point to get everything on that list. Our challenge was the low inventory in Portland, and especially in the neighborhoods in which they were looking. After a few weeks of near wins and some misses, Lindsay got creative and opened up their search. By editing the search criteria just a tad, more Listings were bound to pop up! Taking the search down from 2 baths to 1.5 baths, it wasn’t long before this adorable house in Grant Park appeared! We had a trusted contractor visit the home and do a quick feasibility study on the upper floor half bath, to see if it was possible to renovate and add a walk-in shower. Once the Buyers got the green light, and felt comfortable with the cost of adding a shower to the upstairs bathroom, it was off to the races! Their offer was written and accepted without any back and forth. Lindsay and Mike now have the keys to their new Grant Park abode, and the renovations start today!
