Historic Irvington Craftsman: If these walls could talk…

By Sally Tansill, February 9, 2021

Much of real estate for buyers is based on a gut feeling, “Can I live here?”, “Does this feel like home?” and a large part of the answer lies in the warmth and construction of the home itself. Sometimes you can just feel the love.

When I first had the pleasure of walking through my listing in Historic Irvington, I was overwhelmed by the beautiful craftsmanship, but more than that it was the warmth and care that radiated from the walls. My client called this house home for more than 20 years and it has been the place where children were raised, tears were shed, and it also bore witness to the resilience of love and hope.

As I walked the stairs and rooms I could feel kid’s footsteps behind me, laughter, secret hideouts being discovered, and conversations around the kitchen table. The layout of the house is classic, but the details are the heart of the house. Remodeled with care the updates reflect modern living but maintain the thoughtful attention to detail the owners put in at every turn.

I am truly honored to represent my client on this sale. The sale represents a major transition for this family, but they are moving on in joy positivity and what is better than that.
