After years of daily swims in their Palm Coast Florida home’s backyard pool, Warren knew he was going to want to find something in the Portland area that would allow him to continue his beloved daily exercise dip. Barbara enjoyed her ritual of neighborhood walks and wanted to find a location that offered lots of walkability to local amenities, with the potential of building friendships with new neighbors. Moving across the country to be closer to family, I had the delight of helping Barbara and Warren with their search for just the right place. After virtually touring a few together, we discovered a couple of centrally located sunny options with pools. They jumped on a plane, and we spent a week together visiting their favorite listings.
A new listing came to market while they were here, and we ran over to see it. With vaulted mid century wood ceilings in every room, a beautiful stone fireplace, and the most open expansive view of the South Portland hills, they were absolutely swooning. We walked around the neighborhood and met a number of delightful residents of the area. They all shared how much they loved living there and encouraged us to stop in to see the wood shop, the library, and the multi pool rec center. After a few more visits with the full family’s approval, Barbara and Warren decided to put in an offer.
