Recently, I heard from my friend and former colleague Liz about selling their house in Portland – she’d been saving my newsletters as examples of my marketing, and as a fellow brand marketer, she appreciated my background and knew how it could benefit her as a seller. Before I started my career in real estate, I spent nearly 20 years in branding, communications, strategy, digital, integrated and experiential marketing. Before that, I was a TV news anchor and producer. Liz and I spent time together working in marketing at Entercom radio, and we both have a love of music and its effects/impact on people (hint to what’s to come).
I knew their home was special, having seen epic sunset shots from Liz’s equally epic dinner parties. She and her partner Scott had meticulously updated and maintained their mid century daylight ranch on Skyline Crest. It’s a private road off Skyline near Forest Park that has unobstructed valley views, and is surrounded by gorgeous heritage and modern homes. One of the reasons they chose me over the three other Realtors they talked with is because I totally understood how important it would be to tell this home’s story. It was about more than finding the right price, snapping photos and slapping a For Sale sign in the yard. We needed to demonstrate how this home was a retreat, perched on top of the valley. We needed to share the feeling you could expect by living here. We needed to clearly articulate the care and attention to detail. Our photoshoot involved a twilight hour, to show the valley views. I produced a digital slideshow that was displayed, to showcase additional photos and details of the home. But what I love the most? We not only created a brand for this home (The Nest on the Crest), we created a playlist and had it playing during all showings. FIND IT HERE and I hope you enjoy.
