Taking a “Load off” in Irvington

By Living Room Realty, May 14, 2021

Robert and Alice have been looking for their dream home in Portland for the last 2 years. They were previously working with a different agent before being referred to me a few months ago. They were looking for the classic Portland home filled with history and character in SE, preferably Ladds Addition. Due to the criteria of what they wanted in a home along with the market right now, it had been a struggle to find a home to write on. When they did find a lucky pick to write on, the market would push them past their comfort zone. Then on one Saturday, when homes are usually never listed, a gorgeous bungalow on a beautiful tree lined street of Irvington went live and immediately caught our attention to sneak in a tour on that Monday. Since it was built in 1926 it was alive with the history and charm both Robert and Alice were looking for in their ideal home. We made an offer that night and it was accepted without any competition! There were a lot of repairs to be made on the property which leads to quite a bit of back and forth with the buyers and sellers. In the 11h hour, the final negotiation that bridged the gap between buyer and seller was the inclusion of a brand new high-end washing machine! I was so happy to be a part of Robert and Alice’s journey to find this beautiful home, they can now relax and let the rest of the house unfold.
