Duplex Duo in Brooklyn

By Living Room Realty, June 18, 2021

Dave Sr. and David are the father and son duo that I have been helping look for the perfect duplex in Portland off and on for the past year. Dave Sr. is well accustomed to the scouting and owning of large multifamily units and has been wanting to help his son start his own real estate investment portfolio. David was on the hunt for the idyllic Portland craftsman duplex for him to owner occupy and rent out the second unit as an economical way to start building his portfolio. We found a couple of contenders early on in our search but with many first time home buyers being beaten out of the single family home market, we have seen many of them move their attention to the multifamily market, making it far more competitive than when dealing with the typical investor pool. We did spot a great duplex in Brooklyn that hit about every criteria on David’s list: ideal neighborhood, Portland craftsmen, and most importantly it had a huge, sunny yard. The duplex received over 15 different offers but because they had been beaten out once before they didnt want to mess around and asked me to craft the most competitive offer I could think of, and so Dave Sr. and David got their offer accepted even without having to be the highest bidder! Congrats David and Dave Sr. on your new investment!
