What a happy day! I finally got to hand over the keys to our client’s new home, after several months of searching in a market in favor of sellers. We first connected at the start of Spring; the two had been looking at the Living Room website and found some similarities and connection points from reading my bio. I was so ecstatic that they reached out, and we immediately set up a time to meet.
Right around the beginning of their homebuying journey, the market was in favor of sellers. It was hitting one year from the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, and after an unusual year for real estate we were all watching the market closely to see what was coming next for the industry. In the following months, we experienced one of the best sellers’ markets we have had in this city thus far and quickly had to adapt our practices and strategy to a changing market.
Throughout the months, our clients looked at multiple homes. We were competing against offers that were thousands over asking price and terms that many buyers would find to be out of their comfort zone. Our clients never lost their joy in the process though, they always knew they would find their home soon, and they did! Sitting on the market, which was incredibly rare for this time, the house was beautiful and just needed a few updates. Everything else about the home seemed to fit our client’s vision of the first home they would own together, so we wrote an offer! We closed $20k under list price and after quite a journey to closing, I was able to give my clients the keys to their home!
A huge congratulations to them! It was so much fun working with these two and we wish them the best as they start this new chapter of their lives as homeowners.
