Southern Comfort found in Beaumont

By Living Room Realty, August 24, 2021

If you happen to be milling around the beautiful Beaumont-Wilshire neighborhood and find yourself growing hungry, I highly recommend stopping by Yonder.  Yonder is a cozy eatery serving up award-winning fried chicken, classic Southern suppers, and fun cocktails.

The space itself is comforting, with sky blue walls, and vintage glassware, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped right into grandma’s kitchen. However, the real stand-out here is the food. The menu is fantastic! Almost every single item is made from scratch, so you know your food was made with a whole lot of love. The Intimidator is their take on the classic fried chicken sandwich, featuring pimento cheese, bacon jam, b&b pickles, on a pillowy buttermilk bun. The Chicken & Dumplins is an old family recipe, featuring black pepper dumplings, and locally grown veggies. Finish things off with the Buttermilk Banana Puddin’, and the Very Old Fashioned, with smoked sorghum and pecan bitters.

For chef Maya Lovelace, what started as a supper club pop-up has really blossomed into a staple of the neighborhood, and I for one am very grateful.
