There’s No Place Like Home

By Robin Hakeman, June 4, 2018

My client, Corinn, is no stranger to buying and selling homes. She owns a few investment properties and a condo in the Pearl District. When she set out to find a place with a little more space, we started looking at townhouses in Forest Heights last fall. After negotiations fell through on a great end unit we took some time off to get her through busy season as a CPA.

After thinking more about location, we decided to start looking at homes in Tigard, where we both grew up. She could get more space for her money, a newer home with a yard and best of all she could be close to her parents who live in the area. After seeing just a few homes, we found one within a 10 minute walk from her childhood home! The home needed visible siding repairs but was priced well for  2,800+ sq feet and in a great neighborhood. Corinn had a vision for this house and submitted an offer right away. We were able to get the repairs included, with an additional credit for carpet replacement. After the final repairs were negotiated, things ran smooth as ever to closing day.

Corinn has big plans for her new spacious home and a special reason for wanting to be back in Tigard, close to her family. She’s picking out new paint colors and I love her style – a pale pink office with a soft beachy vibe, a sophisticated bathroom with pineapple wallpaper and neutral tones throughout the home.

Congrats Corinn! I can’t wait to see how it turns out  – below is a little inspiration for ya.

Whether you’re a first-time buyer or a seasoned homeowner, I’d love to help you on your journey to finding your next home!
