About 2 years ago, my now fiancee’s father Glenn asked me to list a couple lots he had for sale in Woods Village outside of Pacific City. It’s a quaint fisherman’s village in Tillamook County that I’ve grown to love.
Glenn very kindly offered to make me a special sign to put up for the listing. I loved that sign so much. It was one of the many things that made me realize how special my fiancee’s family really was. So sweet! Who’s seller offers to make them a sign? Mine did!
I was really flattered and appreciative that Glenn trusted me to list these parcels that had been in their family for over 70 years. While I’d sold bare land before, I hadn’t had much experience working at the coast at that time, so it was all the more lovely that he gave me the listing. A gesture of trust. I learned quickly that selling land on the Oregon Coast is a slow process compared to the Portland pace I had been used to. I would get phone calls periodically. Lots of people were interested, but nobody stepped up to the plate.
Then, the perfect buyer came along! This buyer had grown up in New Zealand. The shady, cozy, ferny parcel made this buyer feel right at home. He was committed. So we put together a deal and the rest is history.
I feel really happy that this very special parcel has gone to such a worthy candidate. It is truly a magical piece of land (think Fern Gully) I am excited to see what will unfurl.
