Dreamboat home for first time buyers

By Living Room Realty, August 10, 2021

Marcel and Petra are clients of mine that I have been keeping in touch with for years. They were living near Denver, CO and decided to relocate back to Portland. We talked in the late spring and came up with a game plan. Once their plans started to set in motion, I found them a temporary AirBnB to stay in while they landed and started their search in earnest for their first home purchase in the states.

It took only a few houses that we toured before they found a beautiful new construction home that was unique and dialed to the nines. The house was thoughtfully designed, and the finishes were modern and sophisticated. They knew right away they wanted to make an offer on it. We ended up in competition with 4 other offers, and one was cash. We talked through what makes a cash offer so attractive to sellers, so that we could craft an offer that would be more enticing. I stayed in close contact with the listing agent, and through fierce negotiations Marcel and Petra came out on top. They were surprised and elated that we were able to secure first position on it. With a strong lending team they cruised through the appraisal and underwriting, and we were able to be ready and waiting at the finish line for when the builder completed the certificate of occupancy.

I’m so happy for my friends and clients Marcel and Petra. We’re looking forward to fall time hangout in their backyard when it’s not a million degrees out!
