When The Neighbor Asks….

By Martin Cross, March 30, 2020

Generally speaking, when the neighbor asks… “would you like to buy our house before we put it on the market“ the answer is… maybe… “let me ask my REALTOR®”.

I’ve found that, more often than not when people want to sell their home directly they have unrealistic expectations as to the value of their home. It’s rarely the case that they just want to sell their home for a “fair” price without the hassle of listing, open houses, showings and waiting. It’s even less often the case when they are already living elsewhere. So, needless to say, when my buyers came to me with this idea I was dubious.

But, when that house is not only very fairly priced but also a big, beautiful, well maintained, craftsman with four bedrooms, two baths, a full basement with tall person ceilings PLUS a sleeping porch, garage and tons of storage on a corner lot then the answer is always YES!

This was exactly what happened for my buyers and I couldn’t be happier for them. So remember, when the neighbor asks… Just call your local REALTOR® (that’s me!) and ask their opinion.
