Portland Summer Tradition: Movies in the Park

By Amanda Haworth, June 14, 2019

With the longer, warmer days and with school getting out, the time has come to keep the kiddos entertained for more hours of the day. One of my favorite things to do is check out Movies in the Park. It’s a Portland tradition and it’s always a treat for the whole fam. Not only is it great live music and a movie to match, it’s also a fun way to explore the different parks around town!

Pack a picnic and head out early to snag your spot on the lawn and then just relax for a few hours with the fam. It’s also pet-friendly(as long as Spot stays on his leash), and it’s a great way to meet fellow Portlanders. There are some movies that are less kid-targeted as well, so take the opportunity to get a sitter and head out for a date night or to meet up with friends. It’s a non-alcoholic event, but let’s be real, if you keep it subtle and don’t go acting a fool you are prob fine to consume something a little stronger than La Croix.

The kickoff is June 21st, but there are shows multiple times a week during the summer, so check out the full schedule HERE!

As a native Oregonian who has lived in Portland for over 20 years, I consider myself to be a “Portland Enthusiast.” I love this city and will tell anyone within earshot why if ever asked. I’m also the daughter of a Realtor, which means I’ve been involved in this industry one way or another most of my life. I know the business, I know how to listen, and how to give my clients what they need during these pivotal processes. When you are involved in helping someone buy or sell a home, you move beyond just a working relationship. I see my clients not just as a paycheck, but as a new partner.
