About Hosford-Abernethy

Close-in History and Bustle

Tucked away between the bustle of Hawthorne and Division, there’s a maze of grand old homes that converge at diamond-shaped rose gardens. Ladd’s Addition is Portland’s oldest planned residential development. Its x-shaped streets are lined with architectural styles including: bungalow, craftsman, American Foursquare, Mission, Tudor, and Colonial Revival. The close-in southeast district is in the middle of the Hosford-Abernethy neighborhood. Aside from its architectural splendor, it’s also a foodie paradise. The neighborhood reaches west to the riverfront and includes OMSI, the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry.
