Does it Snow it Portland? Spoiler — yes!

By Living Room Realty, February 22, 2021

People often ask, “Does it snow in Portland?” ❄️☃️, and the answer is yes. We have mild winters here, but about a week a year we see a decent snowfall and it sends the city into winter-playland frenzy. This is that week. Enjoy some aerial shots of the Pearl District downtown Portland. My town is your town, so let’s explore together!

Hello, this is Nicholas Nascimento with the Dill Ward Group at Living Room Realty and today I’m showing you snowy Portland’s Pearl District. Right now we’re just hovering over the Metropolitan Condominium and we’re looking to see, what’s the action going on during a snowy day. It’s a Saturday and there’s not really many cars on the road, there’s a lot of people walking down the street, it’s kind of fun. It’s kind of a weird, surreal experience where there’s just a handful of vehicles in motion and otherwise you can just walk anywhere and it’s just weird. It’s eerily quiet, except for you can hear kids and families playing in the park and dogs barking at every other dog that they see and it’s just a really fun time right now. Occasionally you’ll see like the snowplow go around but I mean, right now there’s a guy in the middle of the screen here, who’s skiing down the street. There is an entire race today for cross-country skiers put on by Stumptown, it’s one of those impromptu events. It only happens once in a while because the conditions just have to be right and it came through the Pearl district. And right now we’re just cutting across, that’s The Cosmopolitan and it’s got some really wonderful glass wall features that give a fun, reflective texture to everything and get some fun sunset shots there. And then you’ve got The Pinnacle and The Encore over there, both of these buildings are really good for views. You might see things at this height and it just feels like it’s so tiny down there. But it’s such a big city and it’s fun to see it just come to a screeching halt, just so everybody can enjoy a little bit of what nature has in mind for us. So here in Portland, we just prepare ourselves for about a week, a year or two weeks, two years or so to just enjoy the snow. Get yourself ready for snow angels and hot toddies and hot cocoa and walking in the snow and get some nice cozy, toasty clothing, some base layers that have reflective heat properties from Columbia or get some really nice sports sweatpants for your favorite teams from, the Timbers to the Trail Blazers and enjoy the city. Well, I hope you enjoyed the tour of snowy Pearl district.
