Finding Room to Grow: A Family’s Upsizing Journey

By Living Room Realty, January 23, 2025

When I first met Tyler and Landry through our kids’ sports teams, I had no idea that I would eventually be helping them find their dream home. After celebrating 10 wonderful years in their beautiful Tigard traditional—complete with a serene green space and a pond in the backyard—they started to wonder if it might be time to upsize. While their current house had so much to offer, they were ready to find more room for their family, both inside and out.

As my Bridge to Portland Group teammate Genmae Rianelli and I worked with Tyler and Landry, we quickly zeroed in on what they were looking for: a home that gave everyone their own space with a little extra room to breathe and it wasn’t long before a property caught their eye. Not only did it check all their boxes, but it also came with nearly two acres of land and the most breathtaking views.

A Strategic Approach

The house was listed slightly above their budget, so we decided to take a strategic approach. We stayed in close contact with the listing agent and kept an eye on the property’s activity. Once it had been on the market for a little while without an accepted offer, we knew it was the right time to take a closer look.

The moment we all walked in, it was clear that this house was special. Right from the entryway, the view took all of our breaths away. A wall of windows in the living and dining area framed the gorgeous backyard and surrounding landscape. And the house itself offered not only plenty of living space and bonus flex areas but was also move-in ready with so much potential for the family to add their own personal touches over time.

Making It Happen

With their dream home in sight, Tyler and Landry jumped into action to get their current house ready for the market. They worked so hard to make sure everything was perfect, and before we knew it, their home was listed and generating interest.

Things moved quickly from there. Their house went pending in no time, which meant we could move forward with a strong offer on the new property. And with a little negotiation, their offer was accepted, and everything started falling into place.

A New Home for the New Year

Coordinating two sales at once is no small task, but Tyler and Landry handled it like absolute champs. As 2024 came to a close, it was such a joy to hand them the keys to their stunning new home, just in time to ring in the new year.

Helping Tyler and Landry find a home that gives their family room to grow and enjoy the beauty of their surroundings has been such a rewarding experience. Genmae and I are so excited for the memories they’ll create and the new adventures that await them in their perfect space!
