A Home 129 Years in the Making

By Living Room Realty, December 27, 2021

I love working with first time home buyers! Typically, the experience will involve a lot more hand holding and questions, and the excitement that comes with it is unbeatable. I met Marion and Rob over the phone, a quick connection was made, and I knew I wanted to be part of their first home purchase. We loaded up one Saturday morning to see a group of houses and get to know some neighborhoods. Living here for a few years already, they had an idea of the area of town they desired though they knew it was going to be highly competitive. Marion had a speedy mindset (my favorite), a quick yes or no and we were on our way to the next. Rob was open to some change and incredibly flexible at the idea of potentially needing to adjust some expectations if need be. We pulled up to the 1893 Victorian home nestled between two of the most walkable and popular streets in Portland. Marion’s eyes lit up with the original gorgeous details, Rob appreciated the natural light beaming through the windows. With a few more houses to go and no private notes of an offer deadline- we carried on but comparing everything to this home. Not more than an hour I saw the updated notes that offers were due in 2 hours (EEK!)! So, we pulled off the road and wrote what would be not only the first, but last offer of our home buying! We got it!!! Bouncing through inspections and holidays, tomorrow we close on the stunning home with a large backyard for their fur babies. Congrats you four, what an exciting home to begin your next adventure in! Thank you for allowing me to be part of it!
