Julia and I celebrated her new status as a homeowner with a beer on the patio at the neighborhood taproom down the street from her new house. I think she’s found a new favorite hangout spot!
Her path to homeownership started right as the impact of COVID-19 restricted our movement. We handled her early search remotely with online search tools, lots of phone calls, video tours, and drive-bys to pre-screen homes before we moved on to in-person showings.
We were pretty strategic at a time when inventory of homes for sale has been low and there are lots of anxious buyers looking for homes. Competition is tough! While the low interest rates are helping buyers, those low rates are also putting upward pressure on sale prices. Multiple offer situations are common—particularly for cute homes with nice updates and a hip, convenient location!
Julia’s first offer was for a darling bungalow in the Foster/Powell neighborhood. In a field of 10 offers she wrote a really strong offer and made it into 1st Backup position. We kept the momentum going and kept shopping for the perfect home. The right one came along in the Woodstock neighborhood. It was another field of 10 offers but this time Julia’s offer stood out from the crowd with aggressive terms that really appealed to the seller. Julia was the winner!
Now she’s making plans to put her personal stamp on the home and the garden with a great open-air gathering space for friends and family. We all need places to do that right now! Congratulations to Julia!
Check-out the patio at Proper Pint Taproom at 5965 SE 52nd in the Woodstock neighborhood. It was a great spot for an open-air beer!
