April Is National Fair Housing Month and the 53rd anniversary of the Fair Housing Act. The Fair Housing Act prohibits housing discrimination because of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, disability, and family status.
In 1990, the Fair Housing Council of Oregon was formed and they’ve been protecting and promoting the Housing rights of Oregonians ever since. The Council is a statewide civil rights organization whose mission is to eliminate housing discrimination through access to enforcement and education. They are a nonprofit corporation, not a governmental agency.
