On the corner of 30th and Awesome

By David Columbus, November 21, 2018

Winter is the best time to enjoy long, languid evenings with friends, drinking and eating and delving into the mysteries of the universe. But where do you go when you can’t decide where to go? Head over to 30th and Killingsworth and take your pick!

With a bounty of options to suit every palate, the corner of 30th and Killingsworth is the perfect foodie paradise and a great place to snack-hop. Start out with creative cocktails at Wilder, where they serve fresh takes on classic drinks as well as experimental tipples sure to challenge and delight. Need something substantial to line your stomach? Pop across the street to Dame, where you can dine on some of the tastiest seafood in town. Perfectly prepared vegetable-based dishes make it easy for your veg friends to feel satisfied sans-meat. Alternatively, if pasta is feeling like the right move, head over to DOC or it’s more casual counterpart Nonna. DOC offers amazing multi-course meals(reservations recommended), while Nonna is a great place to belly up to the bar to get your pesto on.

Need a post-dinner drink? Get your bougie cocktail fix at Expatriate. They always play awesome records, the drinks are nothing short of spectacular, and the vibes are sexy. In case your pants still fit and you need a little something extra to sop up all the booze, they’ve got a limited but mightily tasty menu of asian-inspired shareables.

Even with all that, I still didn’t even cover half of the goods in the hood. You’re going to have to do a little discovering for yourself, so gather your friends and head on down to the tastiest corner in town!
