COUNTY ROADS, TAKE ME HOME…

By Living Room Realty, November 6, 2020

City life has been kinda crazy these days and there are a lot of folks turning their eyes to the country. A couple of acres, a gravel road, a big barn & small shop to tinker in, a country ranch house with room to breathe…it all sounds really appealing. I’ve been working with several buyers this year who are acting on these daydreams and moving out of town. If you are willing to commute 45 min to an hour,  there are a lot of options out there.

My clients Laura & Andrew started their search for a “gentleman’s farm” early in the summer. Apparently, they weren’t the only ones; the first place that they offered on got 5+ offers and was bid up significantly. It was a really cool property. The one that they ended up purchasing was just a cool with better view. Country properties have a lot more moving parts than city homes: septic systems, shared wells, complicated property lines to name a few. And you’ve got to make sure that the internet is good enough to work from home. When all the research and due diligence is complete…it is a great way to live.
