Curing “The Next Client” Frame of Mind

By Sean Patrick O'Feery, November 25, 2018

As an independent contractor it’s impossible to not wonder where your next client is coming from. There’s a lot of flexibility and opportunity when you work for yourself.  Also, there is the perpetual question “where will my business come from?”  I’ve worked for an hourly wage, I worked for a salary and with both, I knew when, where and how much each paycheck would be. This business of filing as a 1099/Independent contractor can be a stressful one. It is a practice in patience and confidence to believe in yourself. I am confident in the level of service I can provide and trust that my reputation will lead to new referrals.
My take away is: Focus on the clients you have, take the very best care that you are able and focus on the task at hand. All of this combined with trust, honesty, knowledge and hard work will keep me busy doing good work.
It’s hard not the develop ‘The Next Client’ mind frame and my cure is to focus on the clients I have.
Your referrals are the source of my Business and I am honored to receive them!
