It was bumpy month for Jeff as he ventured to purchase a home remotely from Texas. More than a few times we thought the ship sunk but there was still hope on the horizon
We met Jeff six months ago. Jeff set set a goal purchasing a home by July here in Oregon. We spent hours strategizing and going over expectations and how it could be possible to do so in Oregon in comparison to Texas.
Inventory was low and our search was quiet in the beginning and then the pandemic hit, which really put a damper on things. That didn’t stop Jeff from digging into his search though.
After finding and losing out on a home with multiple offers, when this beauty came on the market we knew exactly how to position Jeff so we would not lose out a second time. We fought our way into contract with an offer the seller could not refuse.
Although the home was very well-maintained, we were surprised to find a number a big ticket repairs that needed to be addressed. We got to work and researched the cost and requested it in the form of a price reduction. It was a hefty amount and we thought we were going to have to go back-and-forth. As it turned out our strategy proved to be strong and the sellers gave us a large concession immediately.
Things seem to be going smooth until we receive the call that we had a massive hurdle to clear with the lender. It was very frustrating. However, when we thought we were dead in the water the lender and Jeff were able to work together to find solutions so that we could continue with the transaction which was a huge relief. It was like the sky opened up and the birds started chirping a sweet song.
We are beyond a static for Jeff and that he could have purchased a home here in Oregon successfully from the comfort of his own home in Texas. And what a pleasure it was. It goes without saying to purchase a home you have to have tough skin but grace always goes a long way.
