Blog Buyer Dual Representation for the Win!

Dual Representation for the Win!

By Living Room Realty, May 18, 2021

In my years of real estate, it has been few and far between when I have had an opportunity to represent the buyer and seller in a transaction. Fortunately, I had the help of my teammate Jon Lawson, who stepped in and helped with the other side of the deal. I had been working with my clients on listing their beautiful home in Hillsboro at the same time that a close friend was looking to buy. When my new listing came on the market it seemed perfect for my friend and we weren’t about to let dual representation scare us away!
For those of you who don’t know, dual representation is when one agent (or in this case two agents on the same team) represent both the buyer(s) and the seller(s) in a transaction. Dual representation can be tricky, but the key is to be honest and transparent with your clients. In this case, I enlisted Jon’s help on the buying side, and we made sure to both proceeded with the best intentions of our clients.
On top of being a super smooth transaction, it was so great to work with Jon to bring success to both of our clients. Congratulations all, it was truly a transaction I will never forget!
