When even an investment property has a great story

By Living Room Realty, August 27, 2018

I was connected to Rod through a friend of mine who keeps her home staging materials in his warehouse. Rod isn’t local, he wasn’t a first time home buyer stretching his budget to make his dream happen, and he wasn’t buying the house because of some magical event happening in his life. But even though on paper it looks like there’s no heartwarming tale, it was actually one of sweetest transactions I’ve had all year.

Rod wasn’t buying the house as a straightforward investment. But rather as an investment in his employee, Matthew. The young man with a young family who manages Rod’s warehouse across the street. Rod is buying the house so his employee has a safe and healthy place to live with his partner and their new daughter. With an eye toward selling him the house one day. Together, they’ll working on bringing the house up to it’s fully glory. And for now, Matthew and his family can live in the sweet two bedroom bungalow with fruit trees and veggies beds galore, a one minute walk from work.

Even an investor purchase can melt your heart! And I count my lucky stars that I get to work with so many kick ass folks. Thanks Rod and Matthew!
