First Time Home Buyer Success!

Adam and Rachael are newlyweds, Portland natives, and parents of two bunnies and two kitties that are just about the best people to enter a real estate transaction with. Let me tell you their story and explain why.

These excited, spunky, first time home buyers began their search earlier this Spring. We would go out and see a few houses each weekend, competing with a large market of other buyers searching for homes under $300k. Inventory was low, and it began to look like they might have to settle. Being the understanding and motivated home buyers that they are, they decided to put an offer in on a home a bit out of their preferred area that checked some, but not all of their home requirements.

The day after deciding to put an offer in on this home, Adam was given the news he would be losing his job due to downsizing within his company. This news was devastating, and meant they would have to put a hold on their home search.

However, merely two weeks later, not only was Adam given the news that he could keep his job and work from home, but they were able to expand their price range and look for homes that fit all of their criteria!

That following weekend, they found their ideal home; an adorable ranch in Happy Valley that was move-in ready, and it checked ALL of their boxes and then some. It was the one. As their representation, I knew we had to roll out all the stops to get their offer accepted. One of those stops being a buyer’s letter to the seller. And guess what? With four offers in hand, including many over what they had offered, Adam and Rachael’s offer was accepted because of their letter!


The rest of the transaction was a breeze to say the least. The listing agent was responsive and eager to make sure all parties were happy. The sellers were motivated to make things work and even replaced the shop ROOF during the transaction to ensure Adam and Rachael could use it when they moved in. Not only did they complete the roof, but they did it perfectly… with a week to spare. Their lender and her assistant -Jen Bell and Amy Holscher- were communicative, knowledgeable and prepped Adam and Rachael every step of the way so there were zero surprises. They even made it possible to close in 25 days! Adam and Rachael were patient, optimistic, and realistic… AKA the perfect first time home buyers.

Now, they have a home to begin this exciting next chapter of their life together as well as host some pretty kick ass parties in the backyard!

I am a Portland native (South Tabor to be exact) and am seriously head over heels in love with this city. I feel so grateful to be part of a thriving community that's fostered my ability to work with a broad client base and be part of dozens of both buying and selling transactions. With experience in helping clients all over the city and an intimate knowledge of each neighborhood… you can be sure I will not only know the most recent market trends, but also the best place to find an oat milk latte nearby.

I have a deep commitment to making sure my clients have the information they need to make educated decisions for themselves. It is incredibly important to me that the people I work with see me as a trusted advocate and advisor during the home buying/selling process with their best interest at heart. I am driven to serve and will do everything in my power to ensure my clients goals are met and manifested.

When I’m not marketing listings or showing homes, I’ll be hiking with my pug Phoebe, taking virtual meditation courses on Zoom, creating a low-impact/sustainable home or salsa dancing (after a handcrafted margarita of course.) I’m a wanna be vegan, a cozy minimalist and love to find ways to help others -and myself- lead a more intentional life.
