Four Reasons to Love the Westlake Neighborhood

By Living Room Realty, October 23, 2018

Lake Oswego is known as being a family and education oriented suburb of Portland.

With beautiful parks, architecture, and a wholesome community there’s so much to love about this city. Lake Oswego’s neighborhoods have distinct personalities, and Westlake is the new kid on the block! Located immediately north of Kruse Way at the city’s western edge, Lake Oswego City Council voted to recognize Westlake as a neighborhood in 2013.

Home to over 2,500 residents, along with businesses and organizations, there are plenty of reasons to feel right at home in Westlake! Here are 4 reasons why this neighborhood shines.

  1. Ideal location for commuters: Westlake is close to the I-5/217 interchange, which makes commutes to Portland, Beaverton, and Hillsdale convenient!
  2. Westlake Park: Westlake Park is the city’s premier athletic park, with baseball fields, soccer fields, tennis courts, basketball courts and a covered playground. In the summer, check out the Summer Concert Series, a great way to spend a warm evening with friends and family.
  3. Centerpointe Shops: This beautiful shopping center has food and retail options.
  4. Family Friendly: Take a drive through Westlake and you’ll see kids playing in their yards or riding bikes. The Westlake Loop is a 2.8 mile beautiful walk that would be great for an evening stroll with the family + dogs too! Schools nearby include Oak Creek Elementary and Lake Grove, with junior high and high schools located nearby.
