Newly engaged Deanna and Nick are originally from Kansas City but have been traveling in their little off the grid trailer for the last year. Both work in the creative world, she is in writing and he is in video production, which made it an easy decision for them to drop everything and travel the US, getting inspired by nature and the world around them. With COVID hitting and the uncertain change of the world, Deanna and Nick started to crave land of their own. A singular spot that they could call home. I met Deanna and Nick through their closest friends who I helped buy their dream fixer-upper a year ago. When we first met I told them the market was challenging for first-time home buyers and to be prepared for a journey but that we would find them a home. It has been a difficult road full of bidding wars, rat infestations, and difficult sellers but sometimes the journey is what helps make the destination so much sweeter. When we came across this cute as a button vintage bungalow in Northeast, Deanna and Nick became head over heels! Not just because it had running water and a real refrigerator (trailer life is a tough one!), but because it was full of so much inspiration for both of them. The backyard is what dreams are made of, the inside is filled with warm wood floors, bright natural light, and vintage accents only found in a 1950’s home. Though it was a difficult process in purchasing this home, trying to steer the seller towards reasonable was challenging, but Deanna and Nick persevered and we were able to negotiate the price down! Congratulations to these first-time home buyers, I am so excited to see them turn this house into their new home.
