Gamers’ First Time Charm

By Living Room Realty, June 3, 2019

Julie & Mitch French are magical, positive gems. I do believe that anything they touch flourishes even after a short time of knowing them. Day 1 of our house hunt we started at a gorgeous home with the finest water feature our inspector has ever seen which says a lot. It’s tranquil environment was alluring. Mitch & Julie are huge gamers, as in they host a game night each month. So, the house we were looking for had to meet specific guidelines, and…it had to be zombie proof. When I asked them what this meant, they joked that if we were going to be attacked by Zombies that the house would hold up. This was an idea I had never pondered before and has since changed our view of homes.

We walked through the first home and it had more than adequate space to host gamer parties and had it’s own private section for Mitch’s oasis which he had not had before. Then we progressed to look at 3 more homes that day and found out that home number 1 had an offer on it and the time was ticking to decide on whether or not Mitch & Julie wanted to compete. We took a second to pull off and talk about the pluses and minuses of the home. The biggest hesitation was that it was the first home we had viewed, but then Mitch, Julie & I talked through the fact that this was actually their 100th home they’d view if they counted the homes they looked through online and it was the 1st that really checked all the boxes. So we went for it.

Being the gamers that they are, they knew how to win. We put together a competitive offer and they wrote a letter to the seller that really resonated with the sellers and by the next day we were able to deliver the good news that the zombie proof home was theirs for the keeping!

I will never forget how excited they both were during their inspection and the fact that the sellers themselves left them a personal letter. Through inspections we were able to negotiate a credit to help them with their closing costs and create a comfortable situation for their family so that they could have a smooth move in process.

Through all the transactions we have had, this one will definitely be the most memorable in terms of how well the buyers and sellers got along. It was an honor to be part of and we look forward to the next chapter in the French’s story and for the many game nights to follow!
