Help me find my Barbie dream house!

By Martin Cross, March 20, 2018

When Lara called me up and said she wanted me to help her buy a house, I did as I normally would. I set a time to meet with her and told her she should be thinking about what some of her criteria would be. Numbers of bedrooms, number of bathrooms, yard or no yard, open kitchen, basement, garage etc.

We set an appointment to meet and start forming a plan. But the very next day she sent me the picture above. I want this, she said! Uh, huh…. I responded, but really? “REALLY”, I want Barbies Dream House! As I tried to imagine what she really meant, I thought to myself that I may have bitten off more than I could chew. But, because I am nothing if not resolute, and neither snow, nor gloom or impossible request will keep this REALTORĀ® from his appointed rounds.

Still, when we met the next day I was determined to pin her down. Ok, so, what does that really mean? Frilly and pink and lots of plastic? Lace wallpaper, unrealistically proportioned furniture and rooms without walls?!?!

I never did find out exactly what a Barbie dream house meant to her, but near as I can tell its a Renaissance Homes, three bedroom townhouse on the SW side.

So, if you need help, finding YOUR Barbie dream house, give me a call!

He/Him

I have lived in Portland my entire life and spent the last 20 years in the Creston-Kenilworth neighborhood of SE Portland. As such, I know inner SE like the back of my hand and I am very familiar with most neighborhoods in the Portland metro area. After almost 25 years filling people's homes with great design and art I shifted my love of finding great things, for great people, towards Real Estate. My eye for quality and attention to detail serves both my buyers and sellers equally. As a business owner most of my life, I understand the concepts of problem solving, coordination with others, and hard work. I always say..."Great things rarely come from a 40 hour work week." If you want a Portland native who is hard working, responsive, and compassionate - give me a call. I look forward to working with you to find that perfect home or that perfect buyer for yours whether the house be Craftsmen, Modern, brand new, or a fixer.
